Better manage the production launch

When we talk about the upstream supply chain in the Fashion , Production represents the cornerstone of this stage for brands. The main challenge is to produce  compliant  stock and in the desired quantity. This issue is all the more important as many brands are diversifying their  sourcing and now offer several collections or capsule collections during the year.

 

In short, many expectations weigh on the stakeholders who are buyers , sources and suppliers. 

 

Production is therefore the first step that our e-SCM allows to follow in detail and above all in real time .

 

Plan your production in consultation with your suppliers

Whether it is a finished product, a raw material or a component for which the brand is the buyer, the  e-SCM allows the buyer and the supplier to agree on the conditions of each order, with tier 1 partner suppliers. .

 

To do this, the key points of the order (quantity / price / delivery date / timing) can be reviewed, modified if necessary,  directly on the platform . The latter considers orders with a model / color / size matrix.

 

All exchanges are logged in real time. There is no need to wait for an email confirmation with the supplier, as the supplier is connected to the web platform and can respond quickly. 

Control your production and minimize risks

Once the commercial terms have been validated by everyone, production can be launched , sometimes with the addition of external components. 

 

Don't panic, at this stage the orders can still be modified and this is  synchronized in the ERP ! The aim is above all to enable the buyer to minimize the risks linked to production hazards and to receive the most compliant stock possible. All this to deliver to distribution channels on time .

 

*The advantage of the platform: it will allow purchasing teams to define production indicators to monitor their progress. We can define as a production indicator both a production stage (Cutting, Assembly, Assembly) and sample validity checks (Fit sample, Size set sample, Preproduction sample). These latter elements are common steps in the textile industry. 

  

To go further,  production milestones punctuate the life cycle of the order. They allow you to authorize or block certain actions, depending on their validity status. Therefore, as long as the production indicators on which the milestone depends are not validated, production and/or shipping cannot be launched.

Optimize modes of transport and coordinate goods receipts

Packing list  is issued and transport can be organized. The platform will allow suppliers to give visibility to freight forwarders on the volume and quantities to be shipped so that they can anticipate transport capacity . The forwarder will then log in manually as a user or can be interfaced automatically.

Furthermore, the platform allows, thanks to recorded packing lists, to offer  automatic grouping of shipments by departure points.

Logistics then manages the transport from the platform, up to the timing of deliveries to the warehouse with appointments made. How can we guarantee secure, real-time data collection for the brand?

Powering the platform via APIs : referencing data as well as purchase orders come directly from your systems via interfaces based on the APIs made available by e-SCM . Commonly, we connect to the most common ERPs PLM or WMS as needed (some examples: Orli from Cegid, SAP, AS400, M3, BC, Navision, Centric, Lectra etc. ).

 

The  APIs provided make it possible to secure exchanges, control the origin of the data and its reliability , optimize the operation and supervision of applications while minimizing the desynchronization of systems.
